Every weekend, I sit down and study the plan for my client’s progress.
And that led me to a client retention rate of 93% overall.
Here‘s a 4:1 rule I use to make sure I am on track with my work:
Just for the context:
I work with 10-15 clients at a time in my agency.
And I have a team of 10 people. So each person handles 1-2 clients and makes sure that the work is getting done.
Their work is to create content and do end-to-end management.
Now, comes my work.
I am responsible for my client’s growth.
So I created a 4:1 rule that helps me simplify the process.
4: Questions
1: Prediction
I ask myself these 4 questions:
1. Is the social media growth happening? If yes, in which areas?
2. Which strategies we can change that’s giving us neutral to –ve results?
3. Which areas are doing really good? (have to 2x them)
4. Is it all aligning with the persona?
Now that we have answers to all these questions, we move on to the next step, which is 1 prediction
I create 1 prediction of the entire week, like how this week will perform after changes, and every day, one of my team members closely monitors the changes.
At the end of the week, we match the prediction with the outcome.
Till now, 80% of the time predictions are right.
Rest 20%, we do it all over again next week.
Now why do we do this?
- It gives us a challenge to deliver better outcomes.
- This helps us ask for a raise to clients.
- Keep us learning about new things in the social media space.
- Gives my team an adrenaline rush on the weekends. (They take off whenever they want so we don’t have a no-work weekends policy, lol).
Also, not every account grows. Stagnancy is a common thing on social media.
Like I have been stuck at 86K on Twitter (X) for a month.
The same happens with clients.
Your responsibility is to tell them why these things happen. This will make them work with you for more months and until then, you can figure out their profile.
Never let them go just because you can’t justify why some things are not performing.
Always have a logical explanation.
And you will only have it if you experiment with the content pieces and you have a solid grasp on your niche.
I hope you like reading the newsletters so far. I am trying to give as much information as possible.
